Wake Forest University baseball has a proud and storied tradition. The Deacons remain the only ACC team to capture a national crown in baseball (just forget that Ike was in the White House when this occurred), and last year, they added another footnote to this tradition by winning ACC tournament over top-five rated Florida State Seminoles. The Deacs advanced to the NCAA tournament and fell only two victories short of advancing to college baseball's "field of dreams", Rosenblatt Stadium (site of the College World Series). This year holds in store a very promising team with stars Big Jon Palmieri and John "Henry" Hendricks and the stellar glovework of Corey Slavik at 3B. It doesn't hurt that the ACC's best crew of hecklers will also be available to Coach George "Jorge" Greer throughout the season, seated behind the first baseball dugout. By the way, George, where are our shirts???
